Setting restrictions

Maintain restrictions for all booking channels when setting prices

1. What types of restrictions are there and why are they used?

Restrictions are used by many hoteliers to define arrangements or minimum stays, for example. They are also used to block certain rooms or room rates for certain days.

Here are the most common ones:

MLoS: Minimum or maximum length of stay

Closed to Arrival or Departure: Blocking of a rate or room category for a specific day

Closed: If the hotel is not bookable for certain days.

These restrictions can be used in happyhotel. For a more detailed understanding, you should read our Lexicon article!

You can find out whether you can set restrictions via happyhotel under ‘Integrations’ in the settings.

2. How can I maintain them at happyhotel?

At happyhotel you can now also maintain these restrictions and simply select them at a certain rate. This means that a corresponding restriction can be conveniently set for each individual day in the price calendar.

a) Set restrictions

  • Select the rate for which the restriction is to apply.
  • Make sure that rates to which the restriction should not apply are deselected.

🆕 Function in the new price table

In the new price table, it is now possible to select and edit days by holding down the mouse button. Restrictions can also be set or removed for the selected days.

How to proceed:

a. Click on the desired day and hold down the left mouse button. (It is also possible to mark the days with one click. The selection can be removed by clicking again.)

b. Now drag the mouse over the days you want to mark.

c. Now right-click on the highlighted field and select the action you want to perform.

b) Delete restrictions

As soon as the restrictions are set and stored for the individual days, they are automatically sent to the PMS with all price updates. This also means that this is updated and set on all booking channels.

Regardless of whether or which channel manager you use, you can therefore still maintain and use the most important restrictions via happyhotel.
