How to export data

happyhotel offers analysis help in every rate, which can be displayed efficiently and clearly. You will also find detailed information on revenue management in our Lexicon. We have noted the indicators and various analysis areas in this article; the following article is about exporting the data to a storable file.

1) The analysis 

The analysis of the various key figures is mainly characterised by the right filter. The filter specifies which period you want to measure, with which previous period you want to optionally compare it and which booking status or dimension you want to take a closer look at. 

In this video, you can see again how you can use the sales analysis:

This filter is relevant and adjustable for all key figures. The exact period can be set in the left-hand section, the dimensions such as booking channel, in the middle and the booking status on the far right. All cancellations or optional bookings can be easily filtered out there, for example.

The only exception is the pick-up report, which in itself focuses primarily on the distinction between booking period and pick-up date and on the distinction between absolute bookings and the associated nights or revenue. However, these filter options are also stored directly in the chart.

2) Data export

The analyses in happyhotel are very helpful for anyone who has already dealt with the many different data in the hotel. There is a simple structured data export so that you can also duplicate or simply save them.

You can generally export analysis data in two ways.

1) Direct export of the diagram (simple export)

When exporting the diagram directly, only the data from the visible analysis is downloaded as a PDF, XLSX or CSV file. Other key data such as booking number, rate plan, booking channel, arrival date, departure date, etc. are not included. This means that only the simple data from the analysis is exported.

The data that is exported is always the data that is displayed by means of the filter setting. It is therefore important to set the right filter so that you download exactly the data you want. I will briefly go into the essentials here:

Period: Select the desired time period to be displayed.

Dimension: Under this point, you can select exactly which data should be filtered. Watch the video under point 1 to see what dimensions there are.

Status: Select the statuses to be displayed in the diagram.

Let's now take a look at the export options for the PDF export:

File name: The name of the file (possible for all formats)

Orientation: Left: Portrait format  

                         Right: Landscape format

                         → This only determines the orientation of the page

What should be exported? Left: Diagram only

                                                    Centre: Values in a table

                                                    Right: Diagram and the values separately in a table

2) Extended export:

With the extended export, you can analyse further key data in a detailed table. To retrieve this data, open the data validation window.
